Historical Daly Mansion Montana Wedding

April 5, 2022

It’s 2022, and we live in a day and age of trends. Obviously trends have always been a thing, but with the hold of social media over our society it seems like trends move in and out faster than ever before. The wedding industry is no different, and I honestly can’t believe how fast the latest fads are coming and going! Thats why Mary and Mat’s day really struck a string in my classic heart. Every detail had a meaning, and every moment had the deepest of feelings attached to it. These two are classic set of lovebirds, and the whole day screamed “The Notebook” at me!

Located in Hamilton, Montana the day started at a beautiful, historic bed and breakfast. This was not your typical Air BnB. It had historic charm, beautiful groomed gardens around the property, and the best part was that it was right in the downtown area! The bride and all her best friends had the best time getting glammed and ready for the big day.

Down the country highway a couple miles was the wedding venue. Mary and Mat wanted a real classic feel for the wedding day, and it was important that their venue encompassed that feeling! So they chose to tie the knot at the one and only Daly Mansion. Marcus Daly was a copper king in the early days of Butte Mining. The Daly mansion in Hamilton was used as their summer home, mostly for his wife and children. Picture this, you’re driving down a mile long drive way, lined with aged oak trees. The sun light is peaking through the thick greenery and at the end of the road you spot the large yellow and white mansion. It honestly took my breath away.

The groomsmen were allowed the “trophy room” to get ready in. Thats exactly what it was, a trophy room! All the solid wood walls were displayed with different animals from around the world. It was quite the sight to see, and honestly such a vibe to get ready in! The ceremony took place along side a long row of white historical columns. It was such a beautiful spot, and one of many spots you can hold your ceremony at on the 26 acres of property! The reception followed right after in an onsite tent decorated with chandeliers to match the classical feel of the mansion.

The end of the night we stole the bride and groom for some beautiful golden hour photos and video where we had to literally take a golf cart to get around! There were so many beautiful spots with the most gorgeous backgrounds of either the mansion itself or the bitterroot mountains.

I highly suggest this venue if your looking for somewhere with a historical twist in Montana. The crew was amazing, and super helpful to us as vendors! I can’t wait to get back there to shoot again.

Congratulations Mary an Mat on a beautiful day!
